about
The "Fox in the River" song was inspired by seeing a drowned fox in the Campaspe river, as well as by a dream Liz had about a Thylacine morphing into a fox, and the Bible verses Mark 5:1-20. Our Name Is Legion.
It was recorded and filmed at home in Elmore.

lyrics
Dead fox floats
Caught in the river almost peaceful
Like in formaldehyde
The creature's head submerging
No one should mourn the death of a vermin
It's not like they needed to be here
We settled that before
Still waters run, still waters run
Still waters run, ‘til they don't run at all
Sometimes I remember
By my father's office was a cabinet
Filled with formaldehyde
Creatures in glass containers
Expressions each night unchanging
A fat frog, and a terrified terrapin
I'd run down the hall
Still waters run, still waters run
Still waters run, ‘til they don't run at all
We have begun
Vermin, tooth and gun
What we have done, will outrun us all
One night I lay dreaming
Down by the river was a cabinet
Filled with the Thylacine
The settlers made a fox of him
Strung up and in the box with him
Until that terrible tiger
Was just nowhere anymore
Still waters run, still waters run
Still waters run, ‘til they don't run at all
We have begun
Vermin, tooth and gun
What we have done
Our name is Legion
Whatever spiders’ webs held it
Have left it under the water
And now what seemed so familiar
Is formaldehyde
Whatever spiders’ webs held it
Have left it under the water
Still waters run, still waters run
Still waters run, ‘til they don't run at all
And now what seemed so familiar
Our name is Legion...
